Day 1: Johannesburg, South Africa

On arrival into Tambo International Airport, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel.  The rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure.

Days 2 – 3: Johannesburg to Klaserie Private Game Reserve, South Africa

This morning we depart Johannesburg; the City of Gold, and make our way up through Mpumalanga to the Klaserie Private Game Reserve which shares unfenced borders with the world renowned Kruger National Park.    Over the following two days you will be led by experienced and professional guides on walking safaris through this wildlife rich area in the hopes of spotting lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo as well as hyena, hippo,giraffe, zebra and a whole host of other game.  In addition game drives and night drives are also offered allowing you to participate in a full spectrum of safari activities.

Day 4: Klaserie Private Game Reserve to Northern Tuli Game Reserve, Botswana

Today we leave South Africa and cross the border into the easternmost corner of Botswana, the Tuli Game Reserve.   After lunch at the lodge, which is set on the banks of the Limpopo River, against a backdrop of stunning sandstone outcrops; we get to stretch our legs on an afternoon guided walk.  Bush walks give a real opportunity to experience Africa at grass level, taking in the sounds, smells and sights of the bush at a much slower pace.

Day 5: Northern Tuli Game Reserve to Nata, Botswana

We continue our journey through Botswana, to Nata Lodge, situated on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans.  This area incorporates a multitude of salt pans and vast grass plains dotted by palm islands and forms the Great Makgadikgadi which comprise the largest area of salt pans in the world covering some 37000 sq. km in overall extent. It is the last vestiges of Africa’s largest inland sea and exudes an atmosphere of antiquity and mystery.

Day 6: Nata to Maun, Botswana

After breakfast we head off for Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta.  Here you have the opportunity to stock up on supplies, relax at the pool of our lodge located on the banks of the Thamalakane River, or if you are keen for some excitement why not book a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta.

Days 7 & 8: Maun to the Central Kalahari Desert, Botswana

We proceed to the heart of Botswana, the central Kalahari Desert, where once again we enjoy a two night stay.  We will be taken to the hide to watch the game,  embark on a Bushman Walk and enjoy stargazing.  Game drives are optional and for own account.

Day 9: Central Kalahari to Khwai River, Botswana

Returning back to Maun, a short drive takes us to the mokoro station.  From here, we will float in dug-out canoes through the thick vegetation of the Okavango Delta discovering a variety of birds and wildlife.  Unlike other deltas, it flows into the Kalahari Desert without ever reaching the coast.  After this spectacular excursion, we make our way to our camp, which is situated in close proximity to the famous Khwai River.  After settling in, we will enjoy dinner and embark on a night game drive – a fantastic opportunity to spot some nocturnal animals that are more difficult to encounter during the day.

Day 10: Khwai River, Botswana

Today we spend game driving in the Khwai area. In our open 4×4 vehicle we will explore the Khwai River region on a morning and afternoon game drive hopefully spotting a variety of game that frequent this region.  After dinner your guide will take you on a night drive, and you will hopefully be able to spot some rare nocturnal animals.

Days 11 & 12: Imbabala, Zimbabwe

As we have a long driving day ahead of us, an early start takes us through the game parks of Botswana and onto Kasane, where we will be met and transferred to a private concession on the banks of the Zambezi River.  The 5,000 acre concession has 14 kilometers of private Zambezi River frontage and borders the Chobe Forest Reserve, which is renowned for its massive Elephant population.    During our stay we get to partake in the daily activities which include game drives, river safaris and night drives.

Day 13:  Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

A short drive takes us to the town of Victoria Falls, and our accomodation for the last night of our safari, where we embark on a guided tour of the mighty Victoria Falls, known as “Mosi-Oa-Tunya” (the smoke that thunders). The rest of the day is yours at leisure to partake in one of the numerous activities available, do some last minute curio shopping, or simply relax at the lodge.  At 17h00 we will be collected and transferred to the banks of the Zambezi River, where we board the luxurious Ra-Ikane for a sunset cruise, a perfect ending to our African safari.

Day 14: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Our safari ends after breakfast.  You will be transferred to Victoria Falls Airport in time for your departure flight.  We hope to welcome you again one day on another of our African adventures.
